Every year, accidents occur where the victim of the event could claim for compensation. Unfortunately, many accident victims aren't even aware that their claim is legitimate and could be surprised to discover that their accident may be among the ranks of some of the most common claims that insurance companies come across. So what accidents are the most common? Well, they come from a wide variety of places, such as the workplace, on the road or slips, trips and falls whilst out and about conducting our daily business and encompass a broad range of occurrences. Some of the most common accidents that take place at work include things you might not think to claim about - such as slipping on a wet floor. If a floor has been recently cleaned or had a substance spilt on it without an adequate warning being put into place and you injure yourself, your employer is liable for the accident and you could make a claim for compensation. Similarly, claims can be made for trips on cables that have not been taped down safely and other instances of poor housekeeping. Other common accidents that occur in the workplace include those involving heavy machinery such as forklift trucks, collapsing shelves and contact with dangerous chemicals. Other common accident claims include road traffic accidents. This covers injuries occurring to vehicle occupants, cyclists, pedestrians and so on where the injured party was not to blame for the accident. Similarly, if an accident occurs while the victim is in a public place through no fault of their own, a claim can be made - and such claims commonly are made by various people all over the country. One final type of claim that can be both exceedingly serious and, unfortunately highly unsettling is a claim against medical negligence. This type of claim defends victims against poor treatment received by doctors and dentists and, sadly, is another of the more common claims that claims agencies come across. Accident claims can take some guts to make but they could be more than worth taking that initial step. If you think you have the grounds for a claim, you should speak to a lawyer specialising in such claims to find out if you have a case. Nobody should have to pay for an occurrence that injured them when they were not at fault - so get in touch with an expert to discuss your case and you could find that you are entitled to receive compensation.
