Activities for kids have no bounds when it's Autumn. There's so much to do with the leaves, nuts, pinecones, Fall colors and construction papers. And even with the turkey feathers and pumpkins. Yes, we're talking Thanksgiving crafts ! And for all good reasons, it's a pleasure to create your own shapes and designs and make impressive crafts on Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving holiday is one of the warmest occasions when you have a wide range of activities for kids to indulge in. Craft ideas are galore as well as groovy games and exercises or other activities that the kids would love to do. There are Thanksgiving crafts of all levels from preschool, kindergarten to elementary and high school. And the best part of Thanksgiving crafts is that these can be made out of the simplest things which you'll easily find at home or around your house. So get the kids together for a fun crafts session on or before the Thanksgiving Day. Give them your own ideas for the crafts or fun activities or take some Thanksgiving craft ideas from the list below. These simple, easy-to-do and fun-to-make activities for kids are just tailor-made for hours of good times!

Activities for kids:

• The simplest of all the activities for kids—give the little ones some golden, orange, red and yellow paints and some paint brushes. Ask them to paint the pinecones and acorns in these vibrant shades. These make wonderful crafts as well as very nice Thanksgiving décor. A mantle, table, front porch or window sills strewn with bright and colorful pinecones or acorns or both are indeed a feast for eyes.

• Get a few pumpkins and turkey feathers. Ask the children to stick these turkey feathers on the pumpkins for the tails of the turkeys, cut out round shapes from black paper to make eyes and orange for the beak. This is one of the most amusing ideas of the Thanksgiving crafts and one of the thoroughly enjoyed activities for kids.

• Another fun idea for the very little ones—draw the outline of a turkey on big white paper. Then ask the kiddos to stick brown Autumn leaves for the body of the turkey, nuts for the eyes and beak and they can attach real feathers at the back to make the turkey on paper come alive. For one thing, they're going to stay glued to this Thanksgiving craft for hours, forgetting all other naughty activities they enjoy otherwise!

• A leaf wreath is another great idea for Thanksgiving crafts. It's easy to make and fun to put up on the mantle or on the main door. So get together the beautiful Fall leaves of varying shapes, sizes and colors to make a warm Thanksgiving wreath.

• Making a Pilgrim hat would be fun too, what do you think? Show them a picture of the Pilgrim's hat and ask them to make another like that. They can either make a 3D hat or draw-n-color one on paper. This is one of the Thanksgiving crafts and activities for kids, which weaves fun activity and knowing the holiday history together.

• One of the very common and widely enjoyed Thanksgiving craft ideas is the Thanksgiving tree. This craft comes out best if done in a group. No complicated steps. Just prepare a huge cut out of a tree. Let the kids fix real leaves or fake ones on its branches. They can also put up fruits and flowers on it with ‘happy Thanksgiving' or special Thanksgiving messages written on them. Now if that's not great ideas for Thanksgiving crafts and activities for kids, what is?

• The little children often enjoy drawing and coloring. So why not ask them to make some Thanksgiving themed table mats and napkins? They'll love doing these and later you can use them too. Little apples or turkey faces or cornucopias drawn and colored on the corners/ borders would make peachy Thanksgiving crafts for sure. Just give them the idea and watch the cute creative minds unfold. You'll definitely make one nice memory of a Thanksgiving crafts session or of one groovy time full of bang-up activities for kids.
