Let's talk about sex (The new generation)

Young people nowadays are already adventurous and wild. It is a reality that the new generation is already liberated in any aspect, especially when the topic is about sex. We cannot control every youth to be conservative and traditional. Reality bites as we say, but the new generation is already tired of being Queen Elizabeth of the west and Maria Clara from the east; Sex is a very controversial conversation in most homes, because parents don't usually want to talk about it in front of their children. This is often the reason why children experiment out of their curiosity. So, instead of letting them speculate on the subject, it's best to advise them on how to be cautious on this matter early on.

Talk to your children:
Having an open forum about the topic is the best thing to do as a parent. You have to be ready on what your children will ask you. It will be good if you would start the open forum so they will be guided on their questions. One good example is teaching them how to understand the reproductive system of the male and female. Giving them an overall idea of the entire reproductive process will help them make the right choices when it comes to sex. You might want to also tell them the consequences of unplanned pregnancy. If necessary, it's a wise thing to mention medical processes and pregnancy kits such as elisakits for a deeper understanding of the issue.

Be cautious in teaching your kid:
As a parent you would not want your children to perceive that sex can be done anytime. It is a big No if you couldn't explain well the meaning of sex and intercourse. You have to tell them the pre cautions on why it has to be done and why young age people must not do it. Ask them about their own opinion of the said topic or what are their reactions and perceptions about sex. This situation is very crucial, so try to relax and be careful on what you are saying so as not to give them false impression about the topic.

Tell them about contraceptives:
In Christian countries, this is not usually done but in my own opinion talking about safe sex and contraceptives must be uttered in the family. Soon your children will face a curiosity crisis and I think you don't want the "face of disappointment" when you found out that your children are already sexually active and they are hiding it to you. Just to give parents an idea, we are now at the new generation and we must face the fact that our children will soon be teenagers and adults. It is best if we talk to them about condoms and elisa test kits and other contraceptives for their safety and to prevent unplanned pregnancy.
