f you like the idea of creating compost from kitchen scraps but
would rather keep your own involvement to an absolute minimum perhaps
you should buy the NatureMill Automatic Composter Machine.
Kitchen Composting has been around for a while. The most common form of food recycling is with a Bokashi kitchen composter. These are simple plastic bins filled with food scraps and Bokashi starter mix (friendly bacteria and enzymes). Sealing the waste for a fortnight allows anaerobic fermentation to take place, making the food scraps safe to bury in the garden soil or add to a conventional compost heap safely. Taking the concept of composting kitchen scraps one step further is the Automatic Composter Machine. They are suitable for use in small businesses, restaurants and at home. For between $300 and $400 you get a relatively small black box that plugs into the mains. Fear not, as it only consumes around the same amount of electricity as a night light. The NatureMill Automatic Composter is designed to fit into the average under counter kitchen cupboard so that it remains handy yet discreet. But, with its heavily insulated body it will work just as well out of doors, even in the depths of winter, providing you have a satisfactory insulated outside electricity socket. The idea is extremely simple. There is a draw at the top where new food scraps are added and a larger draw at the bottom where usable compost is collected. Inside a gentle motor keeps all the food stuffs moving, allowing micro-organisms plenty of oxygen and surface area to do the work of composting extremely quickly. Moisture is vented away from the composting material, reducing its volume significantly, thus allowing one machine to deal with the largest of family's food waste needs. Because the machine is so well insulated, the material inside remains extremely hot so hastening decomposition, and importantly hot composting of otherwise dangerous food stuffs. There is very little for the cook to do other than add new waste and empty the new compost as it is created, each fortnight or so. So for those that would like to recycle kitchen waste without attracting vermin or trudging out into the garden too often, the NatureMill Automatic Composter Machine is the answer.
