I'm exhausted, caput, worn out, you can add your favorite phrase. My week last week was not only exhausting, it was extremely difficult with some very tense situations. At times, I felt I could barely keep my head above water. I would like to share with you that I went running to God immediately with my tired feeling and difficult times, but I did not. Why, is that? Last week after one horrendous day, I finally went home and went to my room and cried out to God. I literally cried, I was having a horrible, terrible, no good very bad day (I love that children's book). I gave it all to God. He reassured me that this day did not catch him by surprise and his grace was sufficient. The picture I had in my mind was crawling up in my father, Abba's lap and just resting in him. He can take care of all my hurts and trials. Then, a peace came over me that yes God was in control and still on the throne. My tiredness or difficult day's details may have not changed, but I was not alone. What a relief. God lovingly let me know that he was there and was not going anywhere. God sees our struggles every day and he patiently waits for us to come running to him and ask for help. You have seen this in your children. They are learning to tie their shoes or learning to put on clothes and you so much want to help them, but they stubbornly stomp their feet and say, "Me, do it." They don't want our help. Sometimes, when they are particularly frustrated they may ask for our help. How much easier, it would be if they asked for help before reaching the breaking point. We, well maybe I should say me, are the same way. We run to God at the height of our frustration instead of going to him first, which would cut down on the frustration. We need to take great comfort in what God told Sarah in Genesis 18:14, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" God will accomplish his will in our lives whether we run to him or not. Oh, but it is so much sweeter when we willing come to him and allow him to work in our lives. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
