Cordless Phones Make Talking Easier |

Cordless phones continue to extend their reach, their
features, and their functions. It seems
that convenience rules the day, and cordless phones make communicating a
portable option.
It used to be that you were confined to one place in the house when you wanted to talk on the phone. There was even a piece of furniture specifically designed to hold the phone and allow you to sit next to it. Cordless phones cut the cord and allowed a caller to wander around while talking on the phone. But there was a short limit to the distance that you could roam. Initially, cordless phones might reach across the house - if you were lucky. Slowly, the distance began to grow. Eventually reception was extended to the outside, which really freed up the phone user. Today, cordless phones have strong enough reception that it is possible to visit your neighbor and still receive calls from your own phone. One of the best innovations of the cordless phones is the introduction of multiple handsets. There is one base phone, and then up to four or five other handsets that can be set through out the house. Now there is no need for a phone plug in a room. The options that are available are also numerous, like conference calling, paging, and even monitoring. The downside to cordless phones is the reliance on electricity. If there is a storm and power goes out, so does the cordless phone. Unless you have a back up phone, you would be without contact to emergency numbers, family, or neighbors for as long as the power stayed off. Cordless phones are a wonderful addition to the comforts of today's society. They give you the option of wandering while talking. Cordless phones serve as intercoms, pagers, as well as regular phones. And cordless phones continue to improve in quality and features.
