Just have all the items you need to make them, mayonnaise or mustard, bread and lunch meats. Slicing tomatoes and washing the lettuce at home, if you really want to get fancy. Waiting until you want to eat ensures that the ants will not eat the food before you get to and you won't have to eat a soggy sandwich.
