When I was growing up, I did not see any plastic Adirondack chairs or any other kind of plastic patio furniture. Later, I saw the real cheap type that was found in discount stores that would easily break. But in the last 20 years there has been some major innovations in what would be called plastic furniture, and one of the leading companies is Poly-Wood. The innovation behind Poly-Wood came in 1990, when 2 high school friends, Doug Rassi and Mark Phillabaum, discovered that they could shape the pellets of recycled milk jugs into plastic lumber by forcing it through a die. That "lumber" could them be assembled into outdoor furniture. Lets take a look at six advantages of using this type of material for outdoor furniture over other materials.
