Sometimes all it takes is one thing in a room to change in order to give it a whole new look without the cost of a total and complete renovation. If you are looking for a more updated look to your bathroom, considering changes one of the following things or several of the following things. You'll be completely surprised at what a difference one little thing makes.

• Paint: One of the easiest ways to give your bathroom a facelift is to paint it a new color. If you want something that pops, try just painting an accent wall with a bright color. Usually people will just do an accent wall because depending on the color, it might be a little bit overwhelming—especially in a small room like a bathroom.

• Foliage: Now, don't jump to conclusions. These plants don't have to be real. If you prefer the hassle-free fake plants, go with that (just make sure you dust them every once in a while). But if you love having real plants around, go all out. You will enjoy the nice ambiance the foliage will create. It also helps make the bathroom seem less-forgotten as it sometimes does.

• Mirrors: Just by adding mirrors your bathroom will look so much larger than it really is. And to add some personality, add some funky or traditional mirrors—whatever matches your style. Get creative with the placement of the mirrors. And if you are feeling exceptionally brave, try adding multiple mirrors to the bathroom.

• Hardware: Adding new and updated hardware can really make all the difference in the modernity of the room. Go looking around for the brands that catch your eye or the ones that are within your price range. For me, I absolutely adore the look of Blanco sinks.

By updating your bathroom, it will have a completely different feel. Remember, you don't have to do all the things that I have mentioned. Just one will do the trick to freshen the interior—all while not hurting you financially.
