As we all become more aware of what damage the environment is suffering as a direct cause of the way we live our lives, many people are trying to be more energy efficient. Whether this is done by buying energy efficient appliances or just turning things off instead of leaving them on standby people are doing their bit. Unfortunately this is not the case for everyone and schools are all trying to be encouraged to be more environmentally friendly.
Schools are being encouraged to get double glazing installed throughout the premises but the problem here would be that schools tend to have many windows and this may cost quite a lot of money. Double glazing for the home is not too expensive and the smaller the house the cheaper it is going to be. Some schools in the UK hold thousands of children and therefore have many rooms that would need double glazing, for this reason many people think the government should stand in and help fund the purchase. When we buy a new home there is a good chance that it will already have double glazing in which means there is no need to improve but school building are generally very old and will all but certainly not have double glazing so this is something schools can do. With the amount of computers in use and the canteen appliances as well as the technology department there will be a considerable amount of carbon emissions being released and anything the schools can do to reduce this amount would be welcomed. The government has told schools that they must reduce emissions on new building by 80 percent from the levels recorded in 2002 by 2013. This gives schools 3 years to hit this target and if they have not got double glazing installed then this will certainly help reduce their carbon emissions. Homes benefit from double glazing to as they will save around £135 a year on utility bills which over the years will add up to a nice amount of money saved. All homes, schools and buildings can get double glazing installed to help them save money each year as well as doing their bit for the environment. If you want to make a difference and save some much needed cash then go online and see what deals you can find, you will be pleasantly surprised with the options available to you. Find the best double glazing quotes available when you search online, there are some brilliant kitchen quotes to if you want to improve the look and value of your home.
