Safety in Scaffolding |

Scaffolding is an impermanent structure and it is used in the repair and construction works of buildings to support the material and people. It can be made of wood, metal pipes or even bamboo. Some Asian countries still use bamboo scaffolding in their construction works, but metal scaffolding is most commonly used nowadays. Scaffolding is one of the most important needs of any kind of construction whether big or small.
There are certain safety measures which need to be taken while scaffolding works and the authorities set the specific requirements for that. Transoms, Standards and Ledgers are the main elements for a scaffold.
Generally transoms are placed after the standards to take hold of the standard and to give additional support to the panel. Main transoms are attached with transitional transoms and they provide additional support to the panel above the scaffold.
