Gardening can be therapeutic, rewarding and enjoyable, but not everybody feels that way about gardening, and not everyone has the time to spend outdoors that they would like. So what do you do when you want a garden that looks stunning and yet requires minimal work? The answer is to be smart and make sure you look for ways that give you great results for very little effort. For example, some plants require a lot less upkeep than others. So when it comes to buying new plants, make sure you pick nice hardy ones that don't require constant work to keep them looking good. You might also want to opt for some evergreens. These will give you a nice display of greenery all year round, no matter what the weather is doing or what the season is. As such they are also ideal if you want to grow hedges that remain thick and luscious all year round. Some people prefer hedges to fencing, so bear this fact in mind if you want a softer look to your garden. It is also a good idea to see what kind of soil you have. Most gardens will have either acidic or alkaline soil, and some plants prefer one to the other. You can still grow plants in either type, but you will find you have a much easier time if you grow acidic soil loving plants in an acid soil. As you can see, a spot of research before you get started on your garden is the best bet. No two gardens are exactly the same and if you know how to make the most of what you have, you can get far better results that require less work for you. For example if you have a shady garden, go for plants that like those conditions. The same applies to gardens that are habitually sunny. Find out how to make the best of what you have, and work from that. It is also a good idea to figure out how much time you will have to devote to basic garden maintenance each week. Even the lowest maintenance garden will require some work on it, and knowing how much time you have in advance will mean gardening decisions are that much easier to make. For example if you have a big lawn you will need to mow it regularly during the summer. If you have constantly left the grass to grow long and untidy, you could think about using artificial grass instead. Once you have laid it you won't have to mow it at all. So you see it is possible to have a fantastic garden without the need for lots of hard work. You just have to make sure you approach it in the right way. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
