Ponds and other water features can add an element of beauty unparalleled by anything else in your garden. You should thus use this feature wisely and make it look at its stylish best when designing your pond or even other water features. The first element you should think of while designing ponds is the use of stones. Natural stones are a great way to line your pond and create a very natural look. You can use a variety of stones and make it look all the more natural. Differing sizes and textures of stones when placed well can create a very good look. You can use smaller stones and gravel to fill up the spaces between very large stones. You can also add some elements of colour through certain smaller stones. Lighting is another very important element of your water feature or pond. Good lighting focused on the right places can create a really wonderful ambience in your garden. You can now enjoy your pond in the day as well as during the night, which is certainly an added benefit. Lighting should ideally involve a number of colours, which can be created through a variety of colour lenses. Ideally, you should try a few different lighting schemes and then see for yourself which one looks and suits your garden the best. But when arranging a proper lighting for your garden, please remember about your safety and don't try to install wires on your own. Ask a professional electrician for help and advice. Only then you may be sure that no one will get hurt because of your new lighting ideas. To create a truly natural look for your pond you cannot forget about other, really essential element - plants. They are the vital feature of nature and if you can include them in your pond, it will result in an awesome looking natural pond. You can find variety of plants especially suited for this purpose, like the aquatic plants. In fact, without the plants, your pond can look dull and boring and lacking something. You can also consider plants like water lilies to be placed inside your pond to enhance the natural look of your pond. There is also one thing to consider when creating a pond and other water features in your garden - fish. The most popular fish to be kept is gold fish. But recently koi fish became a desirable inhabitant of garden waters. Koi fish is an ornamental kind of carp. It can be found in many colours - white, blue, yellow, red and cream and it may be a real jewel of your garden. But if you opt for having fish, you need to have at least the basic knowledge on breeding it. Search the internet, buy a guide or simply ask someone who is an expert in this field. When having a water feature in your garden, you need to be aware that it will also attract other animals like newts, toads and frogs, water fleas and snails or even great diving beetles that feed on small fish and tadpoles. So you'd better be prepared.
Water elements need to be handled with care, but when done so, can be a wonderful sight. They can distinguish your gardens from the whole lot and create a marvellous and natural look to your entire home. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
