Balance Sturdiness With Bulkiness: They are two conflicting requirements, but need to be balanced out. To be sturdy, the chairs have to be sufficiently large and strong. However, it is not a very good feeling seeing your child struggling to push around that heavy wooden chair for use. Modern lightweight and strong materials like aluminum, vinyl, wood laminates etc make it possible to have an acceptable via media.
