While buying a kitchen hood, it is important to figure out the correct size of the hood that you would like to install in your kitchen. The size of the range hood should be at least as equal to the cook top. You will have to mount the unit either under the cabinet or on the wall. Some of the range hoods can be mounted in both ways. When choosing the range hood, it is advisable to measure the cooking surface before you actually go and buy one of the hoods. Do some research and find out the proper specifications for mounting the unit. The performance of the range hood greatly depends on the proper installation of the ductwork. You may either hire a professional or can purchase the accessories and do it by yourself. Range hoods are available in different sizes and styles starting from the brushed metal units to the hideaway models. Always select a model which is easier to clean.
