The size of the lights, the color combinations it offers, and its cost are factors that will influence a buyer's choice while buying police lights. The warranty options of the light and its cost effectiveness will also help in making decisions.
police lights are necessities for police as well as the rest of the public. police lights on the vehicles are necessary to warn the other vehicles on the road to move away, to convey to those on the road that help is at hand, to guide traffic in different directions with arrow sticks, to caution others against parked vehicles, and for stealth operations. Markets are awash with police lights necessary for all these functions, and the burden is on the buyer to select one that meets his requirements. The more common selection criteria used by buyers in choosing their police lights are its size, color choices, and cost. There are large light bars spanning the entire width of a truck and very small ones that can be kept in one's pocket and mounted underneath the visor when necessary. The user's choice between the two will have to depend purely on for what purpose the light is necessary. Smaller police lights are obviously energy savers but larger lights are often necessary to ensure the visibility of bigger vehicles like trucks. The smaller size of police lights need not necessarily translate into lower cost. As far as the small light is an LED light it could turn out to be costlier than a larger beacon or light bar that relies on halogen technology. Still, very small police lights that are more or less invisible when not lighted, are necessary for stealth operations both because of the high intensity light beam they provide and also because of the fact that LED light lends itself better to frequent on-off cycles stealth lights may be subjected to. The colors and the flash patterns a light offers have also to be taken into consideration while buying a police light. Blue, red, white, and amber are the more common colors used in police lights and different vehicles may need these in different combinations. Police vehicles that have to provide traffic guidance will need an amber arrow stick, while there are other vehicles that may require only blue and red as warning lights. While buying police lights, the actual cost has to be calculated against the cost effectiveness of the light especially if the light is planned to be used on a long term basis. However, since it will have to come within the budget the department or individual has set apart for it, the choice will also have to be influenced by the possibility of the light being available along with the vehicle on a turnkey basis. Another factor buyers can consider is the number of years for which the warranty is given, and the upgradation options included in the warranty. For police lights that are likely to be used only intermittently and not on a continuous and long term basis, it will be better to go in for light bars and beacons that use incandescent lights and so will be cheaper than those using LED lights. But if the vehicle will be put to use continuously with the light burning for several hours a day, it will be better to go in for the more energy efficient LED lights.
