Bath Screens Can Open a Room

Bath screens are a great way to update the look of your bathroom without having to take out a second mortgage to foot the cost. There are a lot of choices in style, manufacturer, and price to fit every budget and every decorating style. You can find a variety at your local building supply store, or take a virtual tour at several stores over the internet.

The concept behind the bathroom screen is to keep the water from flying out of the shower but still keeping the feel of an open room. This is accomplished in a similar fashion to the older style of glass shower doors, only cut in half. These modified doors are curved, square, and all sort of configuration in between.

The typical bathroom screen is about half the length of the tub. It is usually made of a clear glass-like product - giving the look and feel of a wide open space. Most of the ones on the market today are a solid sheet set on a hinge, but there are some that have accordion style doors instead.

The older method of keeping the bathroom floors dry included shower curtains and shower doors. The curtains might have added a strong decorative touch, but they also tended to make the room feel closed in. The shower doors tended to trap moisture in the grooves of the door ultimately resulting in mold and mildew that was almost impossible to get clean.

Today, the bath screen offers the convenience of the shower door without the difficulties involved in cleaning. Some of the new styles have a curved, modern feel. There are others that have the look and feel of the older shower doors. And there are some that offer a futuristic look to the bathroom experience. All of the shower screens keep the water off the bathroom floor, but still keep the room feeling open.
