Bar Stools Can Fit Any Decor |

Once upon a time the only time you would see a bar stool would be in a pub, a series of classic wooden perches running the length of the bar. As times changed and decor was upgraded here and there, perhaps a TV or two added and maybe the walls repainted a different color, there were a few things in the local pub that would remain the same: the barman, the perfectly poured pints and the well worn bar stools.
Outside of pub culture, the lowly bar stool has made significant inroads. Many of the finer restaurants have fancy lounge areas where one can enjoy a cocktail while waiting to be seated for dinner, and they tend to favor stools over chairs since a bar stool takes up much less space, allowing them to fit more patrons in. The use of stools in the higher fashion environments of clubs and expensive lounges helped lead to a renaissance of sorts in design -if you go to an ultra modern restaurant that's all glass and stainless steel, the stereotypical four-legged oak bar stool is going to stick out like a sore thumb. You can see just how many options there are now by shopping at a store that specializes in stools. A perfect example is barstoolworld.co.uk , a British site that sells only bar stools. A quick glance at their online catalogue shows bar stools in 89 different designs, ranging in price from £26 to over £750 (mind you that £750 is a pretty significant discount of the RRP of £1217.91). Can you imagine a row of £750 bar stools in your neighborhood pub? Neither can I, but the variety in designs and styles speaks to one of the main growth areas in stool sales: home use.
Some people are choosing to cut the middleman out of the equation altogether, recreating an authentic pub atmosphere in their own cellars, complete with a bar, stools, a keg or two, a dart board and a big screen tellie. What's much more popular, though, are kitchen renos that add a peninsula counter that doubles as a breakfast nook or informal dining area. And with a breakfast nook, as with the waiting lounge in the chic restaurants, space is at a premium, so bar stools are a prefect seating solution. Companies like Barstool World supply the restaurant industry and establishments that need a commercial grade bar stool in large quantities, but have a selection of styles, seat material, back and swivel options and seating heights to meet any home decorating need as well.
