The Heating Business has really changed in the last few years we've gone from a shortage of Heating Contractors to having too many! ,all within the last three years, www.heatingcontractorstoronto.com estimates that we have two times the Heating Contractors that we need to fulfill demand. What does that mean to you, the Homeowner, plenty! I see first hand how dangerous it is everyday in two ways one, I operate a Heating Company called Heating Plus in Toronto www.heatingplus.ca and I'm also running a Heating School, so here's the scary part for You, If more Heating Contractors are graduating then can find jobs in the field what do you think the ones that can't find work because of lack of experience or knowledge do? Answer they start their own Heating Company, come into YOUR Home and use it as a training Ground risking your families safety in the process the work is lousy nothing up to code because they know that the average homeowner doesn't know better! I'm going to share 4 Questions that will help protect you against these Heating Beginners.

Questions to ask any Heating Contractor

1. Are you Licensed as a Gas Technician / Heating Contractor- make them show you their card and check the date it will tell you what year they became certified, would you get your teeth fixed from a dentist on his first day on the job, Don't do it with the Heating Contractor either.

2. Are you Registered with TSSA or local governing body- every City , Province, State has a body that regulates Heating Contractors make sure they are registered and how long they have been registered!

3. Do you have WSIB coverage some call it workers compensation coverage- if they don't and one of their workers get hurt in you house you will be liable, not the Contractor, if they have this coverage then you're safe.

4. Do you have proper Property Damage and Liability Insurance - This is a must because the Furnace and the work they do will be in your home for a long time.
