ENZYMES
Enzymes are important to your health. Enzymes are the workers in your body that help digest your food, regulate your organ function, fight viruses and bacteria and repair cellular damage. Enzymes are chemical substances produced in the living organism. They are marvellous organic catalysts which are essential to life as they control all the chemical reactions that take place in a living system. Enzymes are part of all living cells, including those of plants and animals.
The term Enzymes, which literally means 'in yeast,' was coined following the demonstration of catalytic properties of yeast and yeast juices. Although enzymes are produced in the living cell, they are not dependent upon the vital processes of the cell and work outside the cell. A striking feature of Enzymes is that while they enter into chemical reaction, they remain intact in the process. Enzymes are the work horses of the body in that they function to facilitate biochemical reactions necessary for activities such as muscle contraction, wound healing, digestion of food, metabolism of carbohydrate, fat and protein, and virtually all the numerous chemical reactions necessary for growth and vitality. The body manufactures approximately 4,000 different Enzymes
All Enzymes are divided into three groups: metabolic enzymes, which run you body, digestive enzymes, which digest foods and food enzymes, which are contained naturally in raw foods that start food digestion. The more food enzymes you ingest, the less your body has to borrow from its natural metabolic and digestive enzymes to digest food. The main composing element of enzymes is amino acids. Amino acids are a basic kind of proteins. Some100 to 1,000 amino acids come together in a string formation to create an enzyme. This stringing together is done in a neat and predefined order. Now a chain of amino acid is formed which then folds into a unique shape. This shape determines how well the enzymes will carry out their specific chemical reactions. Enzymes as catalysts speed up the chemical processes. At our body's most basic level of function, Enzymes play an essential and critical role. Because Enzymes must be present before any chemical reaction can take place, our bodies cannot exist without enzymes. We can eat a healthy diet and take all the vitamins, minerals, and hormones we want, but without the proper amount of Enzymes, our bodies are incapable of breaking down, absorbing, and using the important nutrients.
As we age our bodies produce less and less enzymes. Between the ages of 27 to 35 years, Enzymes production decreases more than at any other times of life. This is when we first notice aging, due to reduction of enzymes. It makes sense to supplement with enzymes to help slow down this, ever present, aging process. Enzymes are energized protein molecules that, in a perfect world, can be obtained in two ways: Our bodies make them i.e. metabolic enzymes or we get them through the food we eat i.e. food enzymes. When these two natural sources are compromised, we can obtain the Enzymes we need through supplementation.
ADVANTAGES & BENEFITS OF ENZYMES Enzymes are vital to our health and change the rate at which chemical reactions happen, but without any external energy source added or by being changed themselves. Without Enzymes in your body, you could have the best nutritional plan around, and supplement your diet with a host of vitamin supplements, but without these humble workers we call enzymes, the vitamins will not be absorbed into your system. Enzymes helps in - Ease stress on digestive organs, especially the pancreas, by reducing their workload
- Improve general health and quality of life
- Breaking down carbohydrates, fats and proteins into simple compounds that the body can absorb and burn for energy or use to build or repair tissue.
- Purifying the blood.
- Increase the nutrients you absorb from your diet to improve overall nutrition
- Decrease or eliminate indigestion, gas, bloating and reflux
- Address the underlying cause of digestive complaints rather than temporarily masking the symptoms
- Enhance the body's digestive efficiency, reduce fatigue and increase your energy
- Leaving energy to focus on other functions, like strengthening the immune system and regenerating cells and tissues
- Keeping your skin young-looking and healthy
EFFECTS OF ENZYMES NO side effects are reported when take as recommended. However in some cases an increase of gas, bloating, acne, slight dull headache are experienced due to high dosage intake of Enzymes. The symptoms are however temporary and is the body's way of healing itself. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
