You know, 90 percent of headaches are tension headaches. And it is also one of the most common types of condition that anyone, or everyone, can get. Cause of tension headache can be by any type of stress, by change in temperature or weather, or by lack of rest, or even by the food we eat, tension headache can happen to anyone. What even more undesirable about tension headache is that it not only cause pain and tension to the head, it also cause tightening to the neck and back muscles which then resulted in a painful headache.


Did it ever occur to you that tight muscles are responsible for your tension headaches?

For example, do you spend your days hunched over a computer terminal or
stooped over a drill press?

Do you slouch at your desk?

Are you on the phone all day with a phone crooked between your neck and ear?

If so, you're practicing poor posture, which is causing your neck and shoulder
muscles to tighten up.


Tension Headache Symptoms

Many people believe that a tension headache is brought on by stress and can be remedied by relaxing. Wisdom of the past blamed these headaches on stressful events, a bad day at work or emotional distress. The truth is none of these reasons for this type of headache seems to be the actual cause.


A tension headache is associated with pain that includes muscle contraction and reduced blood flow. In addition to feeling pain that runs along the head and into the neck and shoulders, a person with one of these headaches might feel other symptoms such as upset stomach, fatigue, or exhaustion. The severity of these other symptoms will range depending on the frequency of attacks and the actual duration of the headaches themselves.


Treatment for a tension headache can range from something as simple as a few aspirin or other drugs. Some sufferers find that time is the best remedy. The actual treatment will vary depending on the frequency and the severity of the headaches when they strike.


Tension headache pain can last from about thirty minutes to even a whole week. The headaches can occur on occasion or near constantly. The chronic form of tension headache normally last for more than fifteen days in a month's period during a 7 month time frame. There are grounds that each person will experience different tension headache pain. The hardness of the pain can change with individuals.
