The United States is continually getting more health conscious. People are beginning to care more about their fitness, health, and livelihood. And because of that, the majority seems to be concerned with charitable events as well. And now, they can do both. Running for causes is a great way to mix both—all while benefiting every single person involved. Here are some great causes that will get your feet up and moving:

  • Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure: This foundation is made up of breast cancer survivors and cure-finding activists. Since 2005, the Komen Race for the Cure has had over 1 millions participants.
  • Walk MS: Every year, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society hosts 600 walks in order to raise funds to find a cure—and to give people who are currently suffering hope for the future.
  • March of Dimes: This charitable foundation helps millions of premature babies and babies with birth defects. They are there for any baby that needs help to survive.
  • Walk to Cure Diabetes: This year alone, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International will be hosting 200 walks. Diabetes is becoming more common that it ever has been before, and Walk to Cure Diabetes wants to help and make a difference.
  • 5K Run through the Lavender: Every year in Mona, Utah runners and walkers gather to run for a great cause. Gary Young's company Young Living Essential Oils will donate partial entry proceeds to the United Way of Utah County or their Young Living fund which will be used to building a school in Ecuador to ensure a better future for the children.

Whether you decide on just one event or all the ones you can possibly go to, the truth of the matter is that you will be increasing your fitness levels and helping those in need. Run to make a difference; run for life.
