Knowing what to give a diabetic these days has become easier. There are many articles and websites out there to guide us. Many diabetics stay away from sugar and can easily control their sugar levels. Diabetics not only watch their sugar intake but their carb intake as well. But for others, it is harder for them to change their ways. Most diabetics prefer gifts that are non food items. This way, it is easier for them to control their eating patterns for the day. In giving a non food gift there is no surprise for the diabetic who must monitor their blood sugar levels several times a day. There are many gifts out there that are non food, for example a coffee gift basket. Even these baskets hold some items that the diabetic must use within limits. These baskets may include: several assorted gourmet coffees, honey straws, creamer, and stir spoons. On the other hand there are baskets that are lower in sugar and carbs. These baskets may include: sugar free asst. chocolates, sugar free asst Jelly Belly Jelly Beans, sugar free chocolates candies, gourmet coffee, water crackers, cheddar cheese pretzel sticks, creamy port salut cheese dip, cheddar popcorn. In many cases choosing a basket for a friend or family member that is filled with sugar free items will make them feel as if they are one of the crowd. On many occasions we purchase for the non diabetic and get them filled gift items with food, and here we can do the same for the diabetic. Choosing a gift as this is easier, nowadays with the online retailers and the way society has changed recipes to accommodate the diabetic person. The diabetic is sure to enjoy their gift basket and be thankful that they are not given anything different, due to their disease. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
