In today's media-crazed world, most children spend hours in front of the TV, playing video games, and just being lethargic all around. Sports used to be America's pastime, but sadly, most people would rather just sit down on their couch and be entertained for a few hours. It is important to teach kids the joy and necessity to having an active lifestyle. There are several ways to do this: · After School Activity: One of the most important things about the after school activity is to let them choose which one it is. By giving them options, they will become more responsive to the idea and they will become incredibly excited. There are many types of activities: soccer, little league, dance, gymnastics, cheerleading, and many others. The options are endless. · Sporting Events: The excitement of the game may just get them excited about playing it for themselves. Maybe even let them work with a free baseball pick. They will be entranced with the game; they will want to see how well they chose. · Play with active friends: Kids love being around their friends. If their friends are active kids who love being outside, your child will love it too. Let them go to the park. Basically, just let them be kids, run around, and have fun. · Be an Example: Practice what you preach. You need to show your child that it is important to stay active. You also should show them how much fun it is to do the types of things that will ensure a healthy lifestyle. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
