Hiccup is an involuntary and sudden contraction of the muscles of the diaphragm. Normally, this action is repeated many times. A weird sound (hic) is produced. The sound is because of the epiglottis which closes when air suddenly tries to rush in. Hiccups are not as painful usually, though they can be very irritating at times. When they continue for a long period, they are very irritating.

It is well known that antibiotics kill the friendly flora and fauna along with the bacteria or virus, thus causing the body to take much longer to heal. Natural remedies are safe, practical actions that you can utilize to help treat more than 100 common health problems, ranging from minor ailments like ingrown hairs and athlete's foot to serious diseases like asthma and diabetes and a significant number have been demonstrated to effectively treat ailments such as sprains, minor lacerations, headaches, fevers, and even the common cold.

Try Using Witch Hazel and Lemon Juice as an astringent. If you have oily skin and believe this exacerbates your acne or pimples, as the bacteria underneath, which has already clogged your pores, has trouble being released due to excess oil on the skin's surface level, witch hazel and lemon juice are an all-natural remedy to remove excess oil from your skin. Lemon juice can be found at your local grocer.

Drink more Tea. Tea has extremely effective skin-healing, purifying, and antioxidant properties that have been proven to aid in acne and acne scar reduction. Red Tea and Chamomile Tea have particularly been found to be therapeutic in reducing acne, acne scars, whiteheads, and blackheads. Additionally, chamomile has been found to stop acne, especially in the essential oil form because of its powerful effects. Drink about 2-3 cups a day. Your acne-prone skin will thank you. You can also aid honey and lemon, which both are great for skin health and acne.

Hiccups are also part of the body's defense system. If you swallow a large piece of meat or drink plenty of fluids, the glottis (the opening from the mouth to the throat) automatically closes to prevent food from getting into the windpipe. At the same time, the diaphragm forces the food upward by contracting its muscles. When the danger has passed, the nerves of the diaphragm and glottis relax. If they don't, a person has hiccups.

Mix 1/2 tsp of clarified butter to 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds and swallow this mixture. This natural remedy for hiccups is effective in stopping hiccups immediately. Eating spoonful of peanut butter is another effective home remedy. One of the simplest remedy to treat hiccups is to divert your mind on something else.

Black Pepper inhaling black pepper powder can induce a person to sneezing. Sneezing is a violent movement of the respiratory tract. Therefore, it can put an end to hiccoughs. Cardamom is another spice that is used for the treatment of hiccoughs. If the hiccough is persistent then a half teaspoon of cardamom powder is mixed in a cupful of water and then boiled to half its quantity. This solution is then filtered and drunk.
