Weight Loss With The South Beach Lifestyle System |

Following the South Beach diet is one of the most widely used methods of losing weight today. It is based around lifestyle and diet changes that help you lose weight naturally. By cutting "bad" fats and carbohydrates and having plenty of "good" ones, dieters can lose weight without feeling deprived or sacrificing their health. There are three steps in the South Beach program. During stage one, dieters cannot eat any carbohydrates except for vegetables. Although many foods are not allowed, dieters still have a variety of foods they can consume. The first stage is the toughest stage, but also the shortest since it only takes two weeks. Dieters are expected to lose between 8-12 pounds during this period. In the second phase, dieters begin incorporating the previously restricted carb-rich foods into their meals. Dieters are expected to lose a few pounds per week while slowly raising the amount of carbohydrates in their diet. Phase two lasts until dieters achieve their goal weight. Phase three is the maintenance stage. Dieters utilize their strategies they learned from the second phase to maintain their desired weight throughout the rest of their lives. If dieters begin to gain weight again, they may revert back to the first phase of the program. It is likely that you have seen pre-prepared South Beach meals and snacks in the grocery store. These foods are convenient, but you do not need to spend money on them in order to follow the diet. You just need to follow the various general rules for each stage of the program. During stage one of the diet, you can have lean cuts of meat, such as turkey, chicken, and fish, eggs, nuts, most vegetables, and a small amount of low-fat dairy products. Fruit juices and fruit are not consumed during this stage because of their sugar content. Also restricted are all carbohydrates, fatty cuts of meat, alcohol, and certain vegetables that may have high sugar content, such as beets. The objective of this stage is to ban "bad" carbohydrates from your diet and begin the process of losing weight. During the second stage, dieters slowly reintroduce whole grains, fruit, and other banned foods into their diet. In the process, dieters learn how to balance their eating habits to maintain a desirable weight. Once this is successfully completed, the diet shifts into the maintenance stage, in which dieters attempt to maintain the healthy strategies that helped them reach their desired weight. The factor for success with the South Beach program is dedication to eating healthy. Although that sounds simple, the South Beach diet and many other diets fail to work because dieters abandon the diet before the plan can achieve results. The challenges that most dieters have with losing weight often come from deep-rooted problems such as a lack of drive to lose weight, a habit of overeating, or an uncontrollable appetite. The good news is that all of these problems can be resolved with techniques that are easy to learn from a high quality hypnotherapy weight loss CD program. To remedy a lack of motivation, practices from a technology called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) will give you a powerful desire to stick to your weight loss goals. First, dieters pinpoint exactly what things are most important to them, as an individual. This is called their "highly valued criteria." An alternative is to make the dieter believe that if they do not lose weight, their highly valued criteria will be in jeopardy. Motivation comes from what we believe in, not from logic! So in the previous example, let's say that the dieter's most highly valued criterion is that the dieter's children are happy and safe. Using an NLP technique called Submodalities, we can direct the dieter into thinking that if he or she fails to take weight off, the children will be fated to follow the parent's lead and they will be overweight and dissatisfied. This belief will give a strong desire and feeling to stick to a diet and lose weight. Other NLP techniques can help to reduce or even entirely remove the impulses and cravings that prompt one to eat too much. This works very effectively to help dieters stick to the initial and most difficult days of the South Beach diet. It also helps dieters commit to a physical activity program, which will increase the effectiveness of any diet plan. Stress is a problem that often drives people to eat too much or quit paying attention to their health, but relief can be provided by both hypnosis and NLP techniques. One such technique is called the NLP Flash. With the NLP Flash, having the unconscious use stress-causing thoughts to prompt you to have positive thoughts gets rid of the stress that triggers the desire to eat excessively. Unmanageable appetites can also cause men and women to gain weight.
