Losing weight is a challenging struggle; of course, most people are always looking for new ways to take weight off. The Cabbage Soup diet plan is familiar to many people as a popular fad diet that offers an easy way to shed excess pounds, but does it truly work? The diet program is examined here, along with the keys to taking weight off permanently. The Cabbage Soup diet requires, as the name suggests, consuming cabbage soup for seven days. During this seven day period, dieters only eat low calorie cabbage soup and a few other specific foods to lose weight. The program is not a lifestyle plan like some other popular diet programs, and requires no long-term lifestyle changes beyond the seven days of the diet plan. There are numerous different versions of the recipe for cabbage soup. Most contain seasonings, cabbage and other vegetables, such as onions, celery, bell peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Some people like adding spices to make the soup tastier. Other people monitoring their sodium intake try to prepare a low-sodium version of the recipe. Many recent versions of the diet incorporate healthy sources of protein, such as protein shakes and tofu to make the eating program more balanced. Besides cabbage soup, there are very specific rules for which additional foods are permitted on each day of the plan. As a general guideline, dieters eat cabbage soup every day, along with fruit on day one, vegetables on the second day, fruit and vegetables on the third day, bananas and skim milk on day four, beef and tomatoes on the fifth day, vegetables and beef on the sixth day, and brown rice, vegetables, and fruit juice on day seven. Dieters then switch back to their regular eating habits, hopefully now a few pounds lighter. Does the Cabbage Soup diet actually offer an easy way to lose weight? Although no official scientific study has studied the diet conclusively, those using the weight loss program report mixed results. For many people, the program resulted in weight loss (up to ten pounds, typically less), but only for a short while, as the weight gradually returned as the individual returned to their normal meal plans. Some people reported fatigue, light-headedness, and lack of focus while on the diet. Other people did not feel any effects at all, experiencing no illness, but no weight loss either. The Cabbage Soup diet program is just one of countless "fad diets" that people can use. Unfortunately, because this plan may not produce results, for many people it just adds to the frustration of being unable to lose weight. A better approach to dieting does not depend on fad diets or short-term dieting. It takes consisten hard work and long-term health commitments to achieve permanent weight loss goals. For most people, this means eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise. Unfortunately, many of us fight to maintain the habits needed to take weight off. Countless dieters struggle with their weight because of their intense cravings, uncontrollable appetites or eating habits, or a lack of motivation. Hypnosis is perfect for working through these problems and providing the motivation necessary for natural weight loss. Among the many reasons hypnosis is perfect as a weight loss aid is because hypnosis may be used for controlling the appetite. A great number of overweight people suffer from uncontrollable appetites because they experience "emotional eating" which gives them an unconscious drive to eat even when they aren't truly hungry. Hypnotic therapy helps reprogram the unconscious mind to extinguish the unconscious drive to eat, resulting in natural appetite control without the use of drugs. Another way hypnosis techniques can work to help you take the weight off is by removing the stressful thoughts that give you the urge to overeat and undermine your motivation to stay on an exercise plan. When you start to have negative thoughts, hypnosis taps into your unconscious to naturally have positive thoughts instead, which allows you to become more relaxed. Your motivation to exercise can be dramatically increased through hypnosis and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). First, you recognize what the most significant aspects of your life are. Then you use techniques in NLP to guide you into believing that the things that are most important to you will become enhanced if you exercise, or placed in jeopardy if you fail to do so. This way, it becomes easy to stay motivated to get physically fit and stay in shape. Everyone has the ability to learn NLP and weight loss hypnosis techniques from a high quality weight loss hypnotherapy CD program. The techniques in hypnotherapy CDs utilize the power of unconscious thoughts to help dieters stop their cravings. By putting a stop to cravings and urges, the appetite is suppressed or eliminated entirely. Weight loss hypnosis programs also keep you strongly motivated to get physically active and shed weight. By reprogramming your unconscious mind, hypnosis makes losing weight a natural process. It is an excellent tool to make you feel motivated and naturally focused on healthy habits. So before trying a fad diet, consider a healthier approach to losing weight through physical fitness, eating right, keeping a positive attitude, and using hypnosis therapy to make it happen.
