Ways To Lose Weight Easily With The Zone Diet

The Zone diet is a diet plan that pays close attention to calorie intake and physical activity to achieve results. It is a lifestyle-changing program to help people shed weight and become physically fit. The key part of this diet program is the food plan developed by the doctor Barry Sears.

The theory of the diet looks at the influence of carbohydrates on the body's insulin levels. Eating too many carbs causes blood sugar levels to rise sharply, which in turn causes the body to secrete insulin, a hormone that lowers blood sugar levels by causing the sugar to be stored as fat. It is thought that by consuming the right foods, blood sugar levels can be regulated to keep insulin levels in "the zone," a range where the body is supposed to burn more fat and stop holding onto excessive fat.

The program balances protein and carbohydrate consumption in a 3:4 ratio, meaning 30% of your calories will come from protein and 40% from carbohydrates (another 30% typically comes from fat). It is crucial to count calories on the Zone program, with most meals under five hundred calories each and snacks around one hundred calories each.

Under the diet program, you eat five times each day (three meals and two snacks), never going more than five hours without eating. If you get eight hours of sleep per night, this means having breakfast within an hour of getting out of bed, taking lunch within five hours of breakfast, a snack within five hours of your lunch, dinner within two to three hours of snack, and another snack right before bedtime.

Most of the foods eaten on the Zone diet plan include low fat meats, such as fish or chicken and other sources of protein, lots of vegetables and fruits, and a limited amount of carbs. Rice, breads, potatoes, cereals, and sugar are the types of carb rich foods that dieters should avoid eating, but can eat occasionally. Dieters must also try not to eat processed foods and food with a high sodium content.

Physical exercise is another key aspect of the Zone diet. The diet suggests moderate intensity physical activity for thirty minutes every day, six days per week. Physical activity is supposed to increase the effectiveness of the Zone plan. Other things that are supposed to increase the effectiveness of the diet include taking vitamins and nutritional supplements.

The Zone diet works well for many dieters, but it takes a big commitment. The reason why this program and most other diet programs do not seem to work is because many dieters give up before they are able to see improvement.
