Skin cancer is just as prevalent today as it has been for the last several years. Given the amount of news coverage sun damaged skin gets, it is still on the rise. People still don-t head the warnings of the possible dangers of over-exposure to the sun-s rays. There is a way to get that sun kissed look without exposing yourself to the dangers of skin damage. Spray tanning has become an accepted means of getting that bronzed look over the last few years. Spray tanning is easy to apply and easy to find. Most day spas provide this service to their clients. First things first, however. In order to maximize your self-tan or spray tan you will want to prepare your skin to accept and hold the tan for as long as possible. Exfoliation is the first step in preparing the skin. Getting rid of the dead skin cells opens the skin to accept the tanning agents to their maximum degree. Secondly, apply a hydrating moisturizer. Exfoliation can often times dry out your skin, so apply a generous amount of your favorite moisturizer. Hydrated skin will be more likely to take an even coating of tanning spray or gel. Once you-ve gotten your healthy look from the self-tanner or spray tan and you-re happy to go out in your bikini, be sure to follow these sun safety tips: * Wear SPF sunscreen of at least 15 * Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the glare of the sun. * Protect your lips with sunscreen balm. * Reapply sunscreen every hour or two. * Drink plenty of water. This seems like such a simple thing, but most people don-t drink nearly enough water to keep their skin hydrated. * Rinse off chlorine. High alkalinity can disrupt the ideal condition of the skin leaving it dry. * The sun will fade color treated hair. Wear a hat if you want to keep the integrity of your hair color. Sun kissed skin is indeed beautiful. Getting and maintaining that look is as simple as visiting your salon for a spray tan that can last for weeks. It is a safe alternative to tanning beds and over-exposure to the sun-s rays. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
