For many people that enjoy having that sun darkened look without the burning or dangers, sun-beds and tanning booths have become the most popular method to have a year round tan. Interestingly, during recent years, a number of alternative methods have started to become popular owing to the rise in skin cancer. One of the choices people are now making is to go to a salon that offers spray tanning for an almost instant, safe effect. If you want to have a faux color that does not have streak marks then spraying seems to be the superior system over creams and lotions.

There are manufacturers now that offer spray tans that you can find at your favorite salon. Whatever type of simulated tan you intend to use as a regular method, there are a number of things that can help to make it last longer and improve the look. Exfoliation is the first step as this rids the body surface of the dead skin cells. If this isn't done, dead skin will gradually drop off leaving odd, light patches and spoil the effect.

Once the exfoliation process is complete, it is advisable to prepare your skin further by applying a moisturizing cream (or lotion) to it which will make the agent easier to apply. Your tanning professional will be adept at spraying your body for an overall even tan.

Always stay as still as possible after artificial tanning to allow time for the application to settle down and create an even coating.

Spray tanning can be one of the safest tanning alternatives available today. There is no need to worry about burning your skin from too much expose to light bulbs. There is also no need to worry about harmful UV rays.
Spray tans can last anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks.
