The best thing that works for a burn like this is a slice of tomato. Just cut the tomato into wedges use one slice and rub over the burned area. The acid from the tomato takes the pain away and the burn will not blister. Plantain leaves is a popular remedy for treating burns. These green weedy plants grow practically anywhere in the world with sufficient water. Just don't confuse this plantain with the banana-like vegetable of the same name. Hit the leaf with a small hammer, enough to smash just a little bit the plant than wrap the affected area with the leaf. Don't waste your time, thus; cut short your futile search and look around your kitchen and later on in your garden. Here's how you can use common ingredients of the kitchen like turmeric, honey, ice-cubes etc. to treat burns. Serious cases of burning and scalding require immediate medical attention and certain cases might need hospitalization also. The remedies mentioned here below are only for minor burns. The egg whites are also a miracle cure for burns, even severe ones. Soak or coat affected area in egg white. While the egg white is still wet you will feel no pain from the burn. As soon as it dries up the pain comes back so reapplication is necessary. This method not only alleviates the pain it actually heals and prevents scarring from the burn. If the burn is not localized to one small area, you may want to soak in the tub instead. First, clean the tub with hydrogen peroxide or a small amount of bleach - and be sure to rinse the tub thoroughly. For this bath you will need tons of tea bags. Brew the tea with boiling water until it is very strong, and you can cool this down with half cold water. You should not get in until the water is no longer warm, and be sure to get out when the tea water gets too cold. You will need to either lie down in the tub or have the tub filled high enough to cover all the burned areas. Diet plays a very important role in the healing process. To speed up the recovery, burns patients must consume a high protein and calorie diet. Skin burn causes a loss of substantial percentage of micronutrients, such as copper, selenium, and zinc. This slows the healing process and also increases the risk of infection. Aloe Vera is good for treating burns. Cut some fresh aloe Vera leaves and put it on the burnt area. Once the wound starts healing, break a capsule of vitamin E and pour the liquid on it. This will prevent scarring. The first and foremost thing that is required to be done after burn is to pour lots of chilled water on the burn affected area for about half an hour. Brush burns and scrapes can be treated in the same fashion but initially, use cool water compresses without any vinegar, since vinegar will sting and cause burning to an open wound. (Cool water compresses cause stinging on a brush burn anyway, because a fresh scrape is very sensitive.) Use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to disinfect and clean the area before applying the compresses. Continue to use the peroxide every hour or so to clean and disinfect and compress with the cool water afterwards until the burning stops. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
