Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a disorder of the intestine that occurs in people of all ages. IBS is usually accompanied by severe abdominal pains, diarrhea, constipation and cramps. Men and women in their middle ages are the most affected by IBS and they have the most difficulty in dealing with IBS effectively. If you are a victim of the disorder, you will know of the pain and discomfort it can cause. In this article three natural remedies for IBS, which have been recommended by experts that have been proven to be effective, are given. Your digestive system initiates work at your mouth and goes all the way down to your rectum. In order to adequately utilize the food you eat in the body and eliminate the waste, every organ in the system must do its share of the work. When something goes wrong with this process of digestion, most people are left with a lot of discomfort that they do not know how to get rid of. Specific treatment of irritable bowel syndrome varies from child to child. The main objective of treatment is to restore normal daily bowel function as early as possible. It begins with the positive diagnosis of IBS, which gives the child reassurance that he or she does not have any life-threatening condition. The physician based on child's age, overall health, and extent of the problem determines the method of treatment for IBS. The physician may ask you about medical history of the child and the irritable bowel syndrome symptoms present, so it's recommended that you make a note of their bowel habits in the run up to the visit to the doctor. Too many carbohydrates (salads, tropical fruits, juices, smoothies, shakes, etc.), especially at the beginning of the meal, tend to dilute and weaken digestion, acid and enzymes, slowing the movement of food producing abdominal bloating, gas; while increasing watery waste, loose stools, diarrhea. Constipation may also occur. Weak digestion weakens, slows elimination. Many women tend to eat low protein, low fat and high carbohydrate diets. Protein and fat build and fuel. Long-term low protein and low fat, in the extreme, tend to weaken all structure and function, including digestion and elimination. Less food, nutrients is absorbed, transformed into blood, more becomes waste, as all food, nutrients not digested, absorbed, becomes waste sent to the large intestine for temporary storage and eventual elimination from the body. Peppermint is an effective IBS treatment because mint calms the muscles in the stomach, intestines and uterus and increases gastric juice production. Mint also acts as an effective pain killer as it helps to block pain signals to the brain and numbs the digestive tract. In addition, mint is anti-bacterial and helps relieve indigestion, gastrointestinal cramps, gas, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
