A hospital information system related to patients or staff is a clinical information system. This system includes certain technologies practiced during clinical care. Clinical information system also includes certain electronic medical records or drug related guidelines, electronic messaging system and other medical reference materials. There are many challenges in executing clinical information systems such as its exorbitant price, clinical change in flow of work, the need to capture maximum clinical work in minimum possible time, and to symbolize the information in computer for best possible use. The most vital problems regarding clinical information system are its crucial requirements for security and privacy. The research team involved in this system needs to highlight these issues. Security concerns have always been a top issue for any clinical information system. Moreover, for effective working of a clinical information system, it is necessary to provide efficient staff for nursing, and helpful application of resources. It is also necessary to create awareness amongst higher officials for providing proper and authentic information. However, if the information is damaged, then there is possibility for the clinicians to take unreliable and wrong decisions, which in turn will be harmful for patients and at times, might even prove fatal. Moreover, clinical information system also helps in the automation and alignment processes of healthcare and proves helpful in preparing electronic charts for patients. Thus, clinical information system is the vital portion of any clinic, as it helps to maintain harmony and smooth running of any medical department or clinic.
