Technically, do you need a website to run an ezine service, be it paid or unpaid? No. Seriously. You can run an ezine or newsletter publishing service or marketing just through emails alone. You market your service by blasting emails to a list. Get them to sign up, or pay for say a 4 months e-course, or a regular run of ezines of value. Get them to reply via emails, and collect payment details through emails. There, you do not need a website. But here are the top 4 reasons why you really, seriously need a website for your ezine services: 1) Come on, a website does not cost much to set up. You need to pay less than $10 a month if you look for the right hosts and domain name portal. Yes, a website setup can be too technical for some, but services for setting up and maintaining a website have fallen drastically with time due to intense competition. So no excuse here. 2) You look more professional with a website. If you operate via just email, you miss the opportunity to introduce your members to other products that you have to cross sell in a website, and you cannot have a proper purchasing page, or even a page that talks more about you with your picture. All these enhances your personal branding. 3) Marketing campaigns are limited. You cannot use Google's pay per click for one, because you do not have a landing page or website to direct your visitors to. You also miss the opportunity to setup a nice, solid squeeze page to give away something free in exchange for email addresses. You also cannot use search engine optimizations to get more traffic to your ezines. 4) Finally, websites allow you to display your sales page properly. Put up testimonies, results, freebies, bonuses, and a picture of yourself to increase conversion rates. A website certainly does help to enhance and enlarge your ezines business. Do not look at it as a hassle, but rather as an investment to bring your business growth to the next level.
