Calendar printing is and probably always will be a great tool for companies trying to market to their customers. While not one of the more mainstream forms of marketing it serves a distinctive purpose in getting your name into a person's home. But here is the catch: you probably are not the only one going to be making calendars, and you have an entire market of people selling calendars to compete with. The fact that your calendar is free means you have a certain edge over the companies actually selling calendars, but do not think that it means you are a shoe in. I have gotten calendars from companies before that were just so bland and lifeless I ended up going out to buy a more interesting one. I was willing to spend the money because calendars are not particularly expensive and I'm going to have the thing up on my wall for an entire year. I have to like something enough to be willing to put it on my wall like that, and if a company is not going to go to the effort of handing me something appealing, I would not be bothered to use it. Being free is not always the most important thing. And, as I said before, other companies are going to be doing the exact same thing that you are. I have received no less than three free calendars every year for the past few years or so. Companies looking to capitalize on the marketing benefits of calendar printing printed all of those calendars. Now, some people will take advantage of having multiple free calendars by keeping more than one to put up in different rooms. That is a possibility, but it isn't something you should rely on or expect. Instead you should try to give people something so interesting they will pick yours from the list of free calendars, and the visuals are the key component to getting them to do that. Remember to that the visuals do not have to apply directly to what your company does. I have gotten calendars from a dentist's office that dealt with various natural wonders in nature. They had large, full color images of a wide variety of different beauties in nature. This has no bearing on dental work, but sure enough in the bottom corner was the dentists name and number on every page. When I needed dental work done who do you think I thought of going to? That is the wonders of calendars, and the images they used were so nice to look at I simply wanted it on my wall. You need to do the same if you want your calendars to make it to that coveted spot in a person's home. Get creative, get visual, and develop something that you would love to look at every day of the year. Once your calendar is on the wall the marketing will naturally come, and your name will always be waiting there for them to see.
