Successfully marketing your company takes a variety of advertising mediums to get your brand out to a much larger audience. Posters are one marketing tool that you do not want to skip because of their ability to reach a general audience and build up your customer base. Before placing an order with your poster printing company, use the checklist below to make sure that your posters will get a lot of attention.

• Do your posters contain an image? If so, it needs to be the largest aspect on your poster. The photograph is what captures the attention of consumers first. It is the picture that will make passers-by stop long enough to notice the rest of your message. With this in mind, your image needs to be captivating and relevant to the message.

• Is your headline clear, large, and appealing? Readers need to be able to see your headline from a distance (usually 15-20 feet), which means that not only should the font be large but also easy to read. Your headline needs to invoke curiosity and encourage readers to find out more.

• Did you give consumers clear directions on what they need to do to find out more? This part of the poster should stand out from the rest of the text. Because the poster is made for consumers on the go, make sure that taking the next step is easy to remember, for example visiting a simple web address.

• Is the style consistent? The colors, font type, and other design aspects should accurately portray your company image. For instance, if you want to appear elegant, use flowing font, dark colors and bold contrasts.

• How many posters do you need? It is best to saturate areas so that enough people see your message. You may also want to keep copies of posters in your office to hand out to customers who stop by, to place on your table in trade show, or if they are small enough to fold and send in an information packet in response to inquiries. For large amounts over 200, use a wholesale printer to cut costs.

• Is the size you have chosen appropriate for the locations in which you will be placing your posters? Too small of a poster and no one will notice it when passing by. You will also want to make sure that the size is a comparable to any competing posters near by.

Posters can be very effective for getting your brand out there. Just make sure that the entire design flows well and portrays your brand accurately and use a checklist so that your posters are of the highest quality in design and printing.
