Top Four Insider Visibility Challenge |

According to one of the surveys conducted by a top insider threat solution provider, it has been revealed that ‘90% of IT organizations said they lacked sufficient visibility of internal network activity'.
This has brought to the forefront questions such as "Who accessed this file?" or "What are the VPN users doing?" etc. This is because companies are limited in their knowledge about these issues because of the following network visibility and insider visibility challenges.
1. Regulatory Compliance: Compliance checking and monitoring is a time consuming and expensive dedicated procedure, which may eat into the limited IT budget. This may discourage companies to follow stringent regulatory measures.
2. Data Protection: Sometimes critical or sensitive data may be left unprotected in emails and desktops.
3. Security Investigations: Lack of vigilant security systems and absence of risk management procedures may aggravate the already volatile insider threat problems.
4. Data Identification and Classification: Mismanagement of data repositories or applications in a dynamic environment may also cause breach of security.
As organizations assess these challenges, they will come to realize that cost, complexity and risk play a major role in tackling insider threat problems. Therefore, companies should choose solutions that provide IT and security organizations with effective user activity management. This would give comprehensive visibility and control of users and assets, but without the drawbacks of high cost, complexity and risk.
In order to effectively monitor and control high-risk users such as VPN and wireless users, IT administrators, contractors, and employees, enterprises need to choose robust and reliable solutions. It should be a single solution for a wide range of applications without having to train employees. It should also be a single tool that addresses compliance and risk management providing exception reporting focused on high risk events. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
