The Power of The Internet |

It is so strange to see how the Internet developed during the years and how it started taking up the lives of so many people. Did you know that there are people that are making a living of the Internet and that there are over a billion people around the world using it? I remember how it was like around 10 years ago. You couldn't find anything really and only the most important facts could have been researched. Nowadays the Internet is the only tool you really need for anything, especially talking about information. Google evolved and is now challenging the all powerful Microsoft. It will probably surpass it eventually if things go as they are at the moment. In my opinion two web sites changed the way the Internet is thought of. The first one is Wikipedia. Just visit the web site if you haven't done so until now and you will really understand what I am talking about. There is so much information there that it is quite impossible to read it all. You can find anything you need to create a school project for instance and reference links to aid you even more. The second web site has to be GOOGLE. It is much more than a search engine and now offers so many services like Google Adwords, Google Adsense and Google mail for instance. The truth is that for a web site to survive it needs to be included in the Google directory of web pages indexed. Another interesting factor is the appearance of blogs. Soon there will not be a real need to access many web sites as blogs with RSS Feeds will provide all the information a person might need. Talking about news it already does that. Did you notice that many popular web sites will also feature blogs? Some of them are even accessible using some cellular phones and this is in my view the future of the Internet: a full and direct connection between cellular technology and Internet technology. We can also notice File Sharing developing at an alarming rate. It is quite useless to buy a music album or go see a movie if you can download it in minutes. The industry came back with an offensive allowing this file sharing to be legal but there will always be a group or many groups of people that will pay for these services and will afterwards make the material they paid for available for free to the public. It does seem strange but this is how things go and maybe there are people that gain even more money by doing this. The only real fighting force I can see stands in ITunes. The price you need to pay to download from this site is more than acceptable and it is great to see that people are actually doing this. Besides this it is all legal and this is certainly an added plus to everything. The power of the Internet is endless and we can all see this. I use it around 16 hours per day for everything from information gathering to Online Game Playing. Time passed so quickly and so much has been done in such a short time that I am really curious to what will the Internet look like 10 years from now. I will just have to wait and see but I think it will be a lot more powerful, more than we can imagine and hopefully this will be a good thing. I just hope we won't see a monopolized Internet where only the big web sites have something to say about everything. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
