Here are some of the most common web designing goof ups which most web developers face. One very common error is web designing or even else where is typo errors. Mis-spelled words and domain names. There have been several such instances where the website has been registered with a mis-spelled domain name. This is a serious error and a very silly one too. It is important to check- recheck, check-recheck and check-recheck again and again in order to confirm that what you are registering is the right domain name. This is necessary because once booked a domain name is unchangeable. It is also important that you keep a track of the expiry date of your website domain. It can become quite embarrassing if your website domain is pulled out due to non renewal. This might also create a negative impression of your website and its services on your visitors. So, always make sure that you have paid your registration dues much in advance and your site is always smoothly running. Another silly web designing goof up is storing essential web statistics without protecting them with a password. Many websites keep these data in a separate folder which is hidden, but can be accessible from anywhere. In such cases it is essential to protect them with a password so that they do not run the danger of being hacked. The errors discussed so far are genuine and can be excused as it does not directly harm your website, but the worst web designing error is the occurrence of a 404 error in your website. While a surfer is already in your website, he is expecting a smooth surfing experience, but if in such a situation he encounters a broken link, he will immediately create a negative impression of your website and will move out of it with a bitter experience. Hence it is important that you keep a vigilant eye on your website all the time and make sure that you do not give your visitors a bad experience surfing through.
