No matter how reliable you consider your hard drive to be, it is bound to fail or get damaged once in its life span.

In some cases, when your hard drive fails or gets damaged, it may prompt a few error messages at the time of startup and the system may stop booting after that. This may happen if the system BIOS finds it difficult to read or recognize the hard disk including the MBR (Master Boot Record). So, if the system is unable to boot, your hard drive data eventually becomes inaccessible and comes under the threat of loss.

But, you do not need to worry till the time you have a backup for your essential data. Though, if you do not have any backup, you may fall in the need of using Data Recovery as a solution.

A common symptom of hard drive failure or damage is that it generates some error messages. One such error message can be:

"Non-system disk error"

After this error pops up, the system fails to read the hard disk and eventually fails to boot. Consequently, the hard drive data becomes inaccessible.

Cause:

Possible causes for the above mentioned errors are:

  • In CMOS Setup, one of the drive is not specified.

  • If the BIOS (Basic Input/ Output System) of the system is unable to locate the hard disk boot sectors and also the MBR (Master Boot Record).

Resolution:

You can tackle the issue by removing all the floppy boot drives from the system.

But, if the situation does not get any better or solved, then you need to take your hard drive to a Data Recovery technician. These experts incorporate their knowledge and skills into the whole procedure of data recovery to extract all the data from the damaged or failed hard drive. To prevent the hard disk internal components from getting exposed to dust particles, Hard Drive Recovery Services are carried out under the sterilized environment of Class rooms.
