The new Sony Cyber-shot, DSC-W 220, made its way into the markets early this year. The camera has a sporty new feature and is well designed for amateurs in particular. It is perfect for those who forget to change settings or beginners who are confused about the right setting to be used at that particular time. The camera has a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4x zoom lens which makes it even more alluring. As with all digital cameras, the W 220 stores it's data on a memory card, the Memory Stick Duo/PRO Duo Media Card. While the camera comes with all the excitement of saving a whole lot of memories etc, it also comes with the worry of losing them due to some silly mistake!!! If that ever happens, you can relax and use a photo recovery software and safely recover deleted photos.

For example, if while taking pictures on the W 220, you get the sign that your memory card is full. You simply pull out the card and put in a new one. It's what anyone would do!! When you go home and try to upload the pictures from the old card, you are unable to view any pictures.

Cause:

Either the memory card may be corrupted or there may be some other problem. When you pull out a card while the camera is on, the card gets corrupted. This leaves your data inaccessible.

Solution:

When your data is inaccessible on a corrupt memory card, you can only use a photo recovery software to try and salvage the data on it. Photo recovery software work on the principle that all the data we save is still stored on the file system, even when it shows us that the file is deleted. The file system only marks the picture/file as deleted, leaving the data inaccessible to us, but not to specialized softwares. The same principle applies when a file is corrupted. These softwares are specially designed to work their way around and retrieve data from the file system directly.

Stellar Phoenix Photo Recovery, is a software which can be used for this purpose. It is compatible with all kinds of file types (JPEG, TIFF, GIF, AVI etc.) and supports recovery from memory sticks, flash cards, SD cards and any other image storage media. One can use this software to quickly and safely recover deleted photos.
