In my past newsletters, I focused on ingredient #1 in the "Recipe For Fitness Success"- Proper Nutrition. Believe me, I know that there is so much more I could teach you on this subject. In fact, it's still a daily learning experience for me and I've been studying it for years. Fortunately, I've teamed up with Jeff Wallace at Bfit24/7.com who will continue providing you with information on new and better ways to incorporate thermic meals (every 3-3½ hours) into your lifestyle and of course, feel free to e-mail me any questions. In this newsletter, I'm switching gears and concentrating on ingredient #2 in the "Recipe For Fitness Success,"- EXERCISE (an area that I feel very passionate about). Anyone who knows me can tell that I love to exercise; I always have and always will. But let's get real. I am well aware that not everybody is as excited about exercise as I am. However, I have noticed that once people find something that matches their interests and their lifestyle, they tend to enjoy exercise more and more. Just like with proper nutrition, there are so many variations in terms of individual exercises, combinations of movements and levels of intensity that there are always new things to try when wanting better results. So, instead of getting overwhelmed with all of the alternatives, remind yourself that when one thing starts to feel ineffective or boring, you can always choose something else. Anyone who trains with me knows that variety is the key to better commitment and better results; that's precisely why I change our routines so often. Luckily, the hardest part is always at the beginning. Exercise is self-perpetuating for the most part; once you get used to setting aside time for it, it becomes easier and easier to continue. Not to mention, once you see and feel the difference, it's harder to stop. You undoubtedly see that exercise not only improves your physique, it also improves your health and overall quality of life. As you know, the ideas and suggestions in my newsletters are not intended as a substitute for proper medical advice. Always consult your physician or health care professional before performing any new exercise technique or beginning any new food regimen. Unfortunately, not everyone is healthy enough to start exercising or to make any abrupt changes. Taking responsibility for your health includes notifying your doctors of changes that you plan to make ahead of time.
