An Oxygen sensor O2 Sensor is at times referred to a Lambda Sensor or Lambda Probe. a Lambda Probe's job is to reduce emissions from an automobile by ensuring that what is under the hood is combusting its fuel source effectively without being full of pollutants. It records data on oxygen absorption and then changes the amount of fuel sent to the engine to level out the air as well as the fuel. This allow the sensor to get hot quicker. The probes built without the heating part would reach the hot temperature needed, but it took a lot more time for it had to rely on the exhaust heat. Additionally, there are components in the motor that are meant to soak up heat, and that is the reason it took a few moments for the vehicle's exhaust to reach the perfect temperature This is necessary for the older types of O2 Probes to run.
