While my friends grew up playing with Barbie's and Easy Bake Ovens, those things didn't interest me all that much. My days were filled with the likes of Donkey Kong, Super Mario and Sonic The Hedgehog. I loved video games and my parents bought me every new console when it launched: Atari 2600, NES, Super NES, Sega Genesis and the Nintendo 64. When we picked up our first home computer (a Mac), a whole new world of gaming opened up for me, I especially loved the puzzle and hidden object games, classics like Myst. By the time I reached college, the Internet was big and for the first time, I was able to Download Games; connection speeds were pretty lame, so those files would take forever to show up and of course Flash hadn't been developed yet either, so the offerings were campy. But clearly, this was a technology that was only going to become more popular.
A five year period that I refer to only as the dark years followed. After graduation, I landed my first job and worked crazy hours while chasing promotions. I used a computer all day and when I finally got home from work, the last thing I wanted to look at was another screen. I didn't even watch TV. One day I met my future husband during a presentation, we dated a few years, yadda yadda and now we have a pair of two year old kids, Twins. After crunching the numbers, we figured that babysitting would cost more than I earn and I wanted to be part of their upbringing, so I opted to drop out of the workforce and be a stay at home mom.
The first thing I insisted we buy was a new computer so I could Download Games to play in my spare time. Motherhood is rewarding, but when nap time comes around and I'm looking for some casual entertainment, those childhood memories kick in and I have the urge to play hidden object games. My favorite site is probably iWin games (iwin.com), not only because they're family budget friendly with lots of high quality free games available, but when I decide I want to splurge on something that's a little more intensive, I can buy Download Games that rival the best selling commercial titles for graphics and challenging gameplay; there's a free 60 minute trial available so you can test drive them first. I even found a handful of hidden object games that reminded me of my old friend, Myst. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
