A travel nurse is one who does not work in one place all of the time and may travel to clinics or even private homes to care for patients under the supervision of a doctor. A travel nurse RN can dispense medication and care for patients in a way that a licensed practical nurse cannot. A registered nurse is a professional and can perform a variety of different medical duties that can free up time for doctors while giving patients the care that they need. There are many venues that will hire a travel nurse. A travel nurse can work on their own, although they will have to make a report of their findings and give them to the doctor. In some cases, a travel nurse can work under the supervision of a doctor and report to them any findings that may call for the medical intervention of the doctor. For the most part, a travel nurse RN is someone who works in clinics and other areas who dispenses medications for those who have minor ailments that can be treated by a registered nurse instead of a doctor. There are clinics opening up all across the United States that provide medical care for patients. These clinics usually see patients who need medical attention, but do not have to see a doctor. Someone with an ear infection, for example, can go to a clinic where they have a travel nurse RN and get treated for this condition. In most cases, the travel nurse RN will give the patient a prescription for an antibiotic that will cure the ear infection. General antibiotics as well as some other drugs can be dispensed by a registered nurse who can write a prescription for these drugs. Many pharmacies are hiring a travel nurse to work in their clinic that they have in their drug store so that they can bring people to the clinic and also get them to purchase their medication. There are other medical procedures that a travel nurse RN can undertake. While they may not be able to set a broken bone, they can help someone who has a sprain by wrapping it and giving them advice on how to treat the sprain. They can treat non emergency cases at a clinic for those who need to see a medical professional but who may not need to see an actual doctor. This can free up doctors for patients who really need their care. A travel nurse RN is one who will usually work at a variety of different venues and can be employed by several different employers who look for a travel nurse. These employers can be hospitals, pharmacies and clinics. In some cases, a travel nurse may even be employed to care for people who are at home as a private nurse on call. There is a great demand for a travel nurse RN as there are many new venues open to them when it comes to how they can practice and what type of employment they can attain in the field of medicine.
