The biggest problem for newbies into Internet Marketing is the problem of information overload. This will slow down your journey towards internet marketing success, rather than making it faster.

The most popular advice is to firstly take on a self education journey through the basics of Internet
Marketing, such as blogs, links, paid advertisements, article marketing and site analytics. Then, regularly update that information as the internet is always evolving.

The problem is, there's way too much information for even the basics of internet marketing. For blogs, there's RSS feeds, Wordpress, plug ins, pings, social directories, writing articles, responding to comments and many more sub topics towards just blogging alone.

Even for non-internet marketing niche, there's just way too much information out there. Take golf for example. You can get information on buying, selling, playing, best golf clubs, techniques, clothing and sports updates.

Even if you are not a newbie, this can be relevant as well, for example if you manage a membership site providing information on a regular basis. The ironic things is that if people feel that they are too busy to read most of the information, and that they are missing out a lot on the subscription. They will then proceed to unsubscribe and you will be missing their regular monthly fees. You may have good intentions to include those information, but this gesture may not be appreciated.

If you are a membership site owner, and has lots of information to offer regularly, here's a way around this problem. Tier your membership levels into several tiers, such as basic, intermediate or maximum. You can then feed these three categories of subscribers with different amounts of information such as articles, e zines or e books.

If you are losing members from your site despite loading it with lots of information, ensure that the it is not due to information overload. Try the tier membership system, it might just save your membership business. The whole internet marketing game takes time to master, so learn from those who have been there to shorten your learning time, and avoid painful mistakes.
