Growing up, your mom probably collected all your written school outputs, be it artworks, essays, papers, or maybe even your scribbles. What is a portfolio? A portfolio is a documentation of your work or product samples that are relevant to the profession or field that you are trying to get into. It should include you recent and notable outputs, and even old exceptional ones that you deem are worth showing. This is more comprehensive than your resume, in that, instead of just being described, you actually get to show your work samples. A photographer, for instance, will have to do more than just showing that he knows how to use a camera. He has to show evidence that he's good. Presenting some of his best works will speak more volumes than just talking about picture-taking. How does digital printing contribute to a good portfolio? Portfolios usually include visuals, especially of those involved in the arts like painters, photographers and graphic designers. For those in the field of sciences and business, their documents can contain pictures and graphs, posters of proposals and so on. Digital graphic printing can enhance the outcome of images with very clear printouts. Scanned or uploaded from a high resolution camera, images retain their actual colors. You don't have to worry about your works being altered or needing color adjustments before printing. Digital printing allows you to print on photographic paper so the text and images on each page appear vibrant. Painters can even print their artworks on artist canvas. It's the easiest and fastest way to produce a replicate of their works. This method of printing also prides itself on speedy results. When you're in a hurry, you know this won't let you down. What are some factors to consider in making a good portfolio? Make sure that you gather enough samples to give the viewer or reader a clear picture of your abilities. These should be the best ones you came up with since this documentation will represent you. As mentioned, it should say and show what you are unable to communicate. Present it as professionally as you could. Very good outputs presented sloppily will not win anyone over. Take into consideration ever detail of the appearance and organization of your files.
