Lots of people dream of having a high-quality home theater system with high definition pictures and professional-quality surround sound. Many individuals rush out to purchase the newest Hi-Def TV, DVD player, and speakers only to have the sound and picture neglect to meet their expectations. Why would this happen? Maybe they overlooked something small but crucial: home theater cables. You can't have a home theater system without connecting cables. When you buy a home theater system, you'll usually get free cables to connect it. However, these cables are generally poor quality and are worth what you pay for them, nothing. Should you desire to really experience a premier quality picture and sound from your system, you need to upgrade to higher quality cables and you will witness a considerable change. Once you have figured out which cables you require for your home theater installation, you need to select the cables which are optimal for your system. The consumer is faced with choosing from among a confusing array of cable types, brands, and levels of quality. Your choice has major repercussions for the sound and image quality of your home theater system. Shorter cables will give you less distortion and better quality of sound. Low resolution signals, like NTSC, do not need thick wires, making them fairly cost effective. High resolution HDMI cables, by contrast, may cost hundreds of dollars, but they'll give you the best image quality. You can also find decent quality mid-range cables. Similar to sound cables, high def signals should only be run over a short length with the biggest cables possible. A good price range for cables is 5-10% of your home theater budget. If you really want quality cables, it is important to try them out at a retail store before you buy. Many brands and levels of quality offer fantastic performance, but are not worth the additional dollars, so select your cables intelligently. Article Source: http://www.ArticleBlast.com |
