Eminem is an American rapper, record producer, and actor, who quickly
gained popularity in 1999. His debut album, The Slim Shady LP, won a Grammy
Award for Best Rap Album. His second album became the fastest selling hip-hop
album in history and his third album also won Grammy Awards. With all that, it was not surprising that Eminem's fourth album was a huge success. In 2004, EMI Encore extended its relationship with the artist, becoming the international music publisher for the world's biggest rap star and for his highly anticipated upcoming album Encore. The Encore album continues to sell extremely well, as it is a must have for rap and hip-hop fans everywhere - and no Eminem fan would want to be without it. The album contains songs of various types, from the expected to the unexpected. The song Mosh is about pre-election and pro-voting, which is a somewhat surprising theme for a song on an Eminem album. The video features scenes portraying Bush and voters. Like Toy Soldiers leaves listeners wondering what the true meaning is. While some believe Eminem is making an apology to specific individuals (including other successful rappers and hip-hop artists that he has worked with in the past), other people see the message as something much different. There is no mistaking the fact that the song Puke is about Eminem's ex-wife, as he makes the message extremely clear. And whether you approve of the lyrics or not, the song has a great beat. The album includes some typical Eminem easy saver songs, such as Ass Like That. Recapturing the melodies that one expects to hear from Eminem, this song is a sure winner. Another ez saver on the album is Big Weenie, which again, uses a familiar and expected approach that helped to make Eminem famous; this time, one of juvenile humor, to keep our interest while keeping the album grounded with his infamous style.
