Ten ReasonsWhy People Do "Not" Succeed in a Home Business

1. Taking Action Without Planning When it comes to your goals and future, impulsiveness is the mother of regret. Considerable thought must be given to the "ends" as well as the "means" of your strategy. You MUST have a plan. It is very important that everyone you work with know that you have a strategy for accomplishing your goals. If you have a constant stream of family members interrupting your concentration, focus, and your planned "TAKE ACTION TIME" you need to stop them by communicating "when" it's okay to interrupt you and "when" it clearly is not a time to be interrupted. This must be in your plan when you allot time for your work in order to "create results". 2. Planning Without Taking Action Endless preparation and poor planning is worse than taking action without a plan. This causes ineffectiveness in your work. This is so critical when you want to accomplish something. Planning in advance provides direction before proceeding toward a goal. Accept that things will never be perfect. Questions will forever exist. If you are absolutely NOT 100% clear about your plan--there is a tendency to procrastinate by not getting started. Jeffrey Combs, trainer in the home-business industry, says that "people waste time and procrastinate by just "GETTING READY to "GET READY". Also, waiting until the last minute or putting things off tends to create a crisis or may create other problems and these behaviors affect other people. In addition, by not doing something you're procrastinating about, you'll end up wasting your "precious" time and "TIME" is something that can never be replaced. 3. Unrealistic Timeframes and Expectations Life is a process--not an event. Nothing great was ever built easily. Exercise wisdom and learn to be patient. Unfortunately, most things in life take longer and cost more than the best-laid plans anticipate. 4. Reasons "WHY" Are Not Clear "WHY" you want to achieve a goal is more important than the goal itself. Before taking action on anything, it is imperative that you ask yourself this key question: "WHY do I want to achieve this goal?" You must know your "WHY"! 5. Denial of Reality It's far easier to deny reality than it is to accept it. Too many people take the easy way out by being afraid to look at the facts about "why" their life may not be working. Success is information dependent. When we deny reality, for whatever reason, we devalue the integrity of our information, thus ensuring failure. It takes courage to look at our life and see what is not working. 6. Conflicting Values When we have not clarified our reasons "WHY", or defined what success means to us personally, we operate on someone else's definition and what they want us to do. When that occurs your values are sure to be in conflict and progress is short-circuited. At this time it is important to value your values and what is important to you. Others will not respect or value you, your values, nor your time if you don't send the message that these are important to you. Our ‘WHY" and our values must be very clear to ourselves and to others. Therefore, watch your actions, behaviors, and commitments----are they communicating the right message? 7. Diffusion of Energy-- Attempting to do too much is a recipe for mediocrity Biting off more than you can chew is a prime example of taking on too much. Not having strong clear boundaries that you set with others is another example. You do NOT need to volunteer to be on every project, organization, committee, or association. It is pertinent you be strong enough to say, "NO" to those activities that are NOT getting you to your goal. Rather than doing an excellent job at a few chosen goals we spread our energies over a vast terrain and diffuse what matters most; time and energy. 8. Lack of Success Demands FOCUS-- for Success to Happen Focused action is the hallmark of all truly great people. Your ability to get and remain focused, or un-focused, perhaps is the determining factor for your success. Although we all need relationships in our lives we must balance our lives between the appropriate time to "work" and the appropriate time to "play". Focused time will produce the results you want. 9. Trying To Do It All Alone Nobody goes through life alone. We all need the cooperation and assistance of others. Put your pride and "EGO" aside and learn to ask for help when you need it. Learn to leverage and share knowledge for your own well being as well as for others who are dependent upon your cooperation. It is also important that you learn to delegate tasks to others (even if it is not up to your standards). 10. Fear of Failure is The "Grand Daddy" of them all Far too many dreams have suffocated and died because of "fear". Fear resides where knowledge does not exist. The more you know about anything the less intimidated that you feel. Replace your fears with knowledge and watch your performance soar. Feel the fear and do it anyway! Thousands of successful people still have fear; however, they just simply, do NOT allow the fear to stop them. Say "yes" to a life of SUCCESS!
